The Blues kicked off the new Championship campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Brentford and following a 1-1 draw with Bristol City they suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Birmingham City aim to bounce back from the defeat to the Reds and the fact that they are undefeated in previous five home games in the English second tier is giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Barnsley. The Tykes have collected 4 points from possible 9 as well and seeing that the two teams seem to be evenly matched ahead of the midweek clash, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw.

Birmingham City will enter this match, the fourth of the Championship season, in 15th place so far.  Through their opening three games, they have four points to show, with one win, a draw, and a loss.  In the brutal and difficult to read second tier, that means it’s still hard to grasp where they are going.  One thing is for sure, though.  This is still not one of the top teams in the division and are likely to be closer to the bottom than the top come season’s end.

Barnsley, unfortunately for them, look to be in the same sort of boat as their hosts here.  They have also obtained four points from their first three games, though they are two places above in 13th at this embryonic stage.  They won against Fulham to begin the season, but they have lost and then drawn since then.  Their draw on Saturday will have felt like a loss given that they gave up such a late goal, leaving them with a ton of disappointment and thoughts of what if.
